I agree with Jacques, and add another review for Canon. That said, I have to recommend the Canon PowerShot A590 IS. Amazon sells for about $ 300. And SD780IS has a feature that other brands are not a separate optical viewfinder (the little hole you browse) your topic. LCDs do not work well in daylight. If you are outdoors, you should always use a camera with an optical seeker.
